Forgive Us Glenn, For We Have Sinned

Last Thursday, Glenn O'Brien and Richard Prince teamed up for a one-night event at the Chelsea Hotel. The guests––or sinners, I should say––lined up in the reception room of the famous hotel to confess their wrongdoings to Glenn, who was dressed as a priest. A small confessional was built just for the event, which lasted just about two hours and was organized by Cooke Maroney and Bill Powers. I myself did not repent for my sins (the line was much too long), but I did take a peek behind the curtain to find Glenn deeply involved in his sacred mission, with a bottle of champagne at his feet.

On the other side of the velvet curtain, a sexy nun––straight out of a Richard Prince drawing––let people in and out of the confessional. The back wall was actually covered in Prince's prints of women in sexy poses, rabbis, and priests. Richard was laughing throughout the night, and Bill Powers gave away the prints to the guests. The Chelsea Hotel parties live on!
