Forever Flowers: Husam El Odeh SS12

Like something from the Brothers Grimm, the silver roses in German-born designer Husam El Odeh's spring collection are actually real flowers. Not so long ago they were growing in London gardens, until the designer cycled by and picked them. Taking the roses to his caster on the same day, Husam coated them with silver using a custom-made mold. "I really wanted to do something pure with the flowers, as they are such a commonplace, and recreating them would have been a different statement," Husam explains. The pieces are about capturing a specific window of time and preserving it—very wicked witch.
