Locals Only' is a column in which we ask friends from ARGENTINA, our featured country, where they like to eat, thrift, hide out, and hang out when visiting their homeland.

BFF of Lucio Castro and Marina Muñoz, Madeline "Mimi" Eayrs-Jones is the producer of AM FAR gala events in New York. A native Argentinean, Mimi relayed her favorite places in and around Buenos Aires.

Place for a low-key dinner with friends: Ballo del Mattone is a fantastic low-key, Italian restaurant. Very charming and super hip in an understated way.

Restaurant for a first date: Puerta Uno or L'Abeille

Place for babe watching: Tequila is definitely a place for babe watching although it can be tricky to get in. Otherwise, Ferona is more of an approachable scene.

Gallery: MiauMiau Estudio is truly amazing. It's right next door to Farinelli, my favorite coffee shop and hangout joint—I recommend going to both places on the same day.

Bookstore: El Ateneo

Vintage spot for clothing and furniture:
My favorite furniture spots are Costado and Laura O. For clothing, I love Felix and Moroshiki. Often I prefer to just walk around San Telmo.

Best choripan sandwiches: La Brigada

Best steak: La Cabrera

Best alfajor cookie: This is an easy one! Havanna and Cachafaz are my favorite kiosks. If I need to get super specific, there's an amazing homemade alfajor from a bakery called La Bristol.

Barrio to spend your Sunday: San Telmo or La Boca (with an unmissable lunch or dinner at Il Materello)

Weekend getaway: Pilar and Tigre are both fantastic weekend destinations.

The one thing you always bring back with you from visiting Argentina: Swatches of leather. I have a handbag line with my friend Joanne and we source most of our leather from Argentina. Every trip I'm looking for leathers that are both innovative and classic.
