The TRIBECA FILM FESTIVAL has begun! If you’re in the New York area from now until April 29, we suggest you head to any of the festival’s cinema locations to view all the shorts, narratives, and documentaries up for grabs. To mark the event, we will be featuring some of our favorite actors, writers, and directors from the festival.
For Jillian, played by Jess Weixler, it's just one of those days. While playing nursing one helluva hangover, she is forced to guard her friend's post inside an ice cream truck for the day, handing out free samples. As if that wasn't rough enough, everything else in her life seems to be coming to a head. As she sobers up, Jillian realizes it's time for her to confront the many multi-faceted dilemmas of her life: First there's her fiancé; then there's the guy she shagged last night (Tex played by Jesse Eisenberg); her early departure from law school; and the kitchen sink. The girl's on a journey, and she manages to offend and insult many innocent bystanders along the way. Meet Jess, the archetype of a Southern Belle, below!

Favorite Pandora station? Fleet Foxes
What was it about your character that drew you to the movie? My character was wicked without being bad and just says whatever—no holes barred!
Describe your character in three words: Hungover, trapped, lost
If you could watch only three films for the rest of your life what would they be? This is question is crazy difficult! E.T and Days of Heaven. Is it cheating to ask for the entire series [not the movie] of Friday Night Lights? I bet that's cheating
Describe your first kissing scene? I kissed in a lot of plays before I was ever in a movie. My first one was probably around 13. It was two bundles of nerves colliding—I wouldn't call it "magical".
Favorite movie snack from the concession stand? Junior Mints
If you weren't working in films, what would you be doing? Hopefully I'd have the guts to do something in the humanitarian world, trying to save whales or people. I'd clearly have to develop a skill set... I really love being an actor.
