The Tribeca Film Festival has begun! If you’re in the New York area from now until April 29, we suggest you head to any of the festival’s cinema locations to view all the shorts, narratives, and documentaries up for grabs. To mark the event, we will be featuring some of our favorite actors, writers, and directors from the festival.

Today we meet Gia Crovatin of the film BFF. Directed by Neil LaBute, this black and white short focuses on the conversation between two BFFs. Jill suspects her boo is cheating and Jack, like all BFFs, is there to console and help her… or is he? Picking up the part of Jill, Gia’s performance is just as glowing as her shiny blonde hair. While on set, we asked Gia some Qs about herself and BFF.

Name and age:
Gia Crovatin, 26

Hometown: Winchester, VA

Current neighborhood: Upper West Side

Astro sign: Sagittarius

Twitter: @giacrovatin

What are you currently obsessed with? The Renaissance Portrait from Donatello to Bellini exhibit at The Met, seeing films at Film Society Lincoln Center, Kathleen Edwards' newest album Voyageur, the book Leaving the Atocha Station by Ben Lerner, Leslye Headland's plays, JTV (Jewelry Television)—no judgment. Oh, and Levain Bakery cookies. That's why I live on the UWS. Seriously.

Supernatural power you would like to possess? The ability to heal

If you had to be stuck on a desert island with someone, who would it be? My two longest and best girlfriends. One's a doctor, one's a lawyer—I'm set for life! And my Big Pony toy.

Favorite Pandora station? The Bill Evans station

What was it about this story or your character that drew you to the movie? Neil LaBute wrote it. Need I say more?

Describe your character in three words. Delusional, delusional, delusional

If you could watch only three films for the rest of your life, what would they be? Woody Allen's Manhattan, Gregory La Cava's My Man Godfrey, and Fellini's La Strada.

Describe your first kissing scene: Can I go back in time and have my first big on-screen kiss with Marcello Mastroianni, circa 1963? No? Okay, then, currently, French actor Romain Duris.

Favorite movie snack from the concession stand? Hot buttered popcorn and a cherry Coke

If you weren’t an actor, what would you be doing? I just can't imagine doing anything else!
