'Locals Only' is a column in which we ask friends from ARGENTINA, our featured country, where they like to eat, thrift, hide out, and hang out in their homeland.

This week PAULA from HOUSE OF MATCHING COLOuRS takes us by the hand through Buenos Aires. Check out what other locals are saying HERE.

Place for a low-key dinner with friends: This restaurant in Palermo called Dominga. I love it so much!

Restaurant for a first date: El Establo—it's really laid back and traditional. Their puchero is quite popular during the wintertime.

Book shop: It's out of the way, but there's a little bookshop in the Buenos Aires University that has great, random technical books.

Place to get coffee: El Barcito de la Bella Italia. It's right behind my studio so I'm there all the time. They have great coffee and tables outside. It's not super special, but it's good for lunch and meetings.

Vintage spot: Juan Perez. They have a great selection of secondhand clothes and beautiful window displays.

Best choripan: La Tranquera

Best steak: El Mirasol

Best alfajor cookie: Every kiosk has a wide array of alfajores… usually I get the Milka Triple Mousse or a white Havanna. If I want to make a healthier choice, I go for one by the brand Cachafaz

Barrio to spend your Sunday: Treasure hunting in the San Telmo market or in the Dorrego
barrio. But usually by the time I get there, all the stands are closing down and I go into a frenzy trying to see everything in two seconds. It's more of a morning thing to do.

Place for weekend getaway: The countryside for some asado steak and horseback riding.

The one thing you always bring back with you from visiting Argentina: There's this popsicle I'm obsessed with: it's a lemon-flavored Torpedo. I've had up to 10 in one day. They don't sell them everywhere anymore, only at certain kiosks in the winter, which can be really frustrating. You obviously can't bring them back with you, but don't miss out on them if you're visiting the city!
