Designer Mark McNairy has always had a reputation for being quite the rebellious rabble-rouser—come on, Travi$ Scott closed his Spring/Summer 2014 show. With his preference for wacky prints, tongue-in-cheek call-outs, and all-together badass designs, it was only a matter of time before the designer brought his well-known flair to a classic sneaker brand.
So it comes as no surprise that his debut collection with heritage sneaker brand PONY gives two big middle fingers way up to the average sneaker eyesnores. Available in both a low and high-top style, McNairy manages to inject his signature against-the-grain flair into two classic styles that incorporate colorful calf hair with classic sneaker silhouettes. Each sneaker style also features a "SMTB" insignia on the back heel which stands for "Save Me The Bullshit." We couldn’t have said it better ourselves.
With his first PONY collaboration, McNairy introduces sneakers that are as street-ready as a luxe cow print can get.
Check out our interview with Mark NcMairy below where he reveals his first pair of PONY sneakers and what he'll wear when he eventually accepts his own Oscar.

CHLOE DEWBERRY: What came first, the collab with PONY or the fascination with pony hair?
MARK MCNAIRY: It happened simultaneously. I think it happened through the miracle of reverse osmosis.
Do you remember the first pair of PONY sneakers that you ever owned?
I am pretty sure it was the Bob McAdoo model around 1974. He is from Greensboro, where I'm from, and played for U.N.C.
The back of the Topstar has “SMTB” on the heel. Was there a specific moment that triggered this response via shoe?
It's a phrase that a friend introduced me to. New Yorkers don't have the time or patience for B.S.
You’ve always been into sporting culture and fashion. Would you still consider yourself a sneakerhead or have you honed in on your tastes?
I got three new pairs yesterday and two so far today. Does that answer your question?
Where would you personally wear these sneakers?
Most likely when I am vacuuming. Or accepting my Oscar.
