The Susan Geiss Company has been invaded by aliens! Not really, but that's what The Equation, an exhibit by New York artist Rammellzee, looks like. An eccentric and a prolific creator, Rammellzee let his powerful imagination bridge mediums and mingle with reality. He created entire worlds populated by alter egos and devised his manifesto "Gothic Futurism," which posits that the alphabet possesses power that has been lost due to its abuse by mankind. Tragically, his devotion to creativity consumed him in the summer of 2010—hazardous working conditions deteriorated his health and his body finally failed him.
Much of Rammellzee's work was lost or overlooked upon his death, but The Equation brings his vibrant universe back to life. The exhibit features a diverse selection of his work, with the focus being a blacklit room filled with vibrant graffiti canvasses and a fleet of glowing skateboard spaceships. It's a unique glimpse into a peculiar mind.
