OC x PFW: Rue du Mail FW12

Remember Amber Valetta and Shalom Harlow wearing perfect Martine Sitbon dresses in 90s issues of Vogue? I think that half the girls in the front row of last week's Rue du Mail show do, too. The good news is that Martine is still making elegantly skewed separates and evening wear season after season. The Rue du Mail woman has gone far beyond the legacy of 20s-inspired party dresses. The fall collection included satisfyingly textured black and white separates, felt lattice pieces with contrasting tights, printed silky bombers, and a finale of satin dresses in perfect shades of red, navy, and violet. Martine chatted with friends afterward in the courtyard of her longtime atelier, serene in her trademark glasses and basic black.
