RH Gallery is presently host to Underworld Rising, the first exhibition of artist Yi Zhou's work. Born in China and raised in Rome, Zhou’s art is a surreal blend of East and West, classicism and postmodernism, technology and mythology. In 2010 she created the short film “THE GREATNESS”, which is the centerpiece of the exhibit. This creepy, haunting film depicts a descent from the “real” world into a twisted dimension of fire, ice, and darkness. Other pieces in the show are derived from this spooky realm and include a fish swallowing a human heart, a goddess birthing offspring from her mouth, and Pharrell’s head crumbled beneath a tree. Needless to say, it’s a provocative exhibit, and definitely one that’s worth a visit.
