Back To Basics: Fanmail Fall/Winter 2014 Lookbook

Now here's something worth following. What originally began as a limited range of organic cotton, hemp tees, and sweatshirts evolved into sustainable luxury sportswear brand Fanmail. With flattering cuts, perfect execution, and muted color tones featured in its Fall/Winter collection, each piece serves as a solid anchor to any outfit. Sure, the New York-based brand aims to make an impact, but Fanmail isn't radical; the brand simply wants to shift focus from fashion theatrics to detailed construction and fabrication. "Fanmail clothing is made to be worn, not just looked at on your computer screen," founder Charlie Morris told OC. "It's intended to integrate into the wardrobe you already have rather than necessitate a whole new one."

Like the collection itself, the lookbook came together in a more organic nature. Shot in Dumbo, Brooklyn by photographer Milan Zrnic, the set was built by the Fanmail team and juxtaposes wall-to-wall curtains and warped mirrors against plastic tarp and uncarpeted flooring. "I thought there would be something fun about mixing the artificial and the natural, especially when visual textures in our fabrics and the sets could play off of each other," Morris said. It feels modern yet a work in progress—much like how each piece works with anything you put on.
