We Need To Talk About––this movie. On Wednesday night, Pop Rally and the MoMa hosted a screening of We Need to Talk About Kevin, a gorgeous parental horror story directed by Lynne Ramsay, and starring the out-of-this-world Tilda Swinton.

A screen adaptation of the 2003 acclaimed novel penned by Lionel Shriver, the film tells a dark and uncomfortable tale of a mother raising a son who is (maybe) a sociopath. The film is shown through the point of view of Eva (Tilda's character) over the course of 20 years––through a pregnancy in NY, suburban life in Connecticut, and lastly, a prison where she visits her son.

After the screening, the audience was treated to a Q&A with Tilda that was conducted by Sally Berger, curator of the MoMA film department. Tilda suggested taking your mother to see the film and getting her the book for Christmas. I could not agree more. On the left are some pictures from the screening and reception as well as the trailer (below) for the film, which opens nationwide in February.
