OC x NYFW: Men's Assembly NY FW12

The men's Assembly NY Fall/Winter 2012 collection is what happens when Neo of The Matrix takes the blue pill, trades in the black trench for a tan one, tops off the look with a leather cap, and says, "Thanks––but no thanks," to the rabbithole. Designer Greg Armas showed a cohesive ensemble of earth-toned, minimalistic, and polished-yet-scruffy looks. Long coats and chunky oversized jackets were thrown over loose tees and sharp-collared shirts, which in turn were paired with slouchy, relaxed-cut pants. Perhaps quiet on the surface, the collection wasn't devoid of Greg's meticulous hand in the construction. Details like a banded seam instead of traditional lining on a blazer (making it easier to layer) attest to the innovative tailoring that goes into his line of versatile, sophisticatedly rough basics that we love.
