City of Angels: Devon Halfnight LeFlufy Spring/Summer 2014

OC’s year of Belgium has not only featured imports from legendary Belgian designers but also tapped recent graduates from Belgium’s top design institutions The Royal Academy in Antwerp and La Cambre in Brussels. Among these star students is Vancouver-born Devon Halfnight LeFlufy, whose Royal Academy graduate collection, “True Believers,” has already graced the racks at the OC men’s shop. Back with nine additional pieces from the breakout collection, LeFlufy’s looks pay tribute to Los Angeles’ street culture in the form of palm tree-printed sweat separates, hamsa hand iconography, and former tween dream team Justin and Selena. Where LeFlufy’s first OC delivery saw hand-knitted Lakers jerseys with lasercut snakeskin lettering and digital printed distortions of the Hollywood Hills, this crop of LeFlufy looks maintains a focus on found images developed with NYC-based painter Brian Kokoska (the notorious LA sign boy makes a return in the form of a jacket), contributing to a diverse range of graphic tees, tanks, and shorts.
