Last season, designer Layla Racy was all about the cool bohemian girl sitting outside of a cafe. For Spring/Summer 2014, the Layla Racy girl added a pair of wire framed glasses to her cheeky polka dots and prints. “I pictured a slightly awkward and nerdy girl who didn't know how cute she was," Layla explained. "She threw on whatever was on her closet floor and walked out the door with all her quirky prints thrown into one outfit. I imagined her being in her own dream world, full of whimsy and wonder." This vision was executed by introducing stiffer fabrics, slightly awkward proportions, and a twist of vintage with burnt oranges and pale pea-green accents. The result is a playful look with boxy, retro separates and simple prints that still exude the brand's signature effortlessness. Think 60s diner waitress meets modern geek chic.
