My turn-of-the-Millennium was the stuff a young girl's dreams are made off. I tried my first WKD alcopop, had my hair glitter sprayed bright blue, and got a bit mental on rainbow dust sherbet tubes with my pals while we danced to "C'est La Vie" and "Mickey" by my favorite Irish girl band B*witched. For many of my now 20-something friends, the early noughties bring back some crystal memories; namely ones of Shaggy makin' love on the bathroom floor.
Marques'Almeida's Spring/Summer 2014 collection was the ultimate year 2000 rave. Their bright collection celebrated all things noughties from it-girls Frankie Rayder and Devon Aoki (who was photographed in that kimono by Nick Knight when she was just 14); spaghetti straps and boob tubes; and the one and only boot-cut jean.
To celebrate the SS14 collection hitting stores this week (and soon to be available online!), the designers behind the collection, Marta Marques and Paulo Almeida, have created the ultimate turn-of-the-Millennium party playlist exclusively for OC.
