Ostwald Helgason's Resort 2014 Block Party

If you were to ask anyone who knows me what my sartorial signature is, the answer would be a unanimous "crewneck sweatshirt." I have a thing for sweatshirts—I dare you to ask how many I own.* Two seasons ago, I fell in love hard with a certain fuchsia/cream/navy number by Ostwald Helgason, and ever since I've been hooked on their colorful separates. The design duo's mastery of palette mixing has been proven season after season in its sweatshirts, and the resort collection takes the blocky piece to another level. Inspired by artist Fernand Léger and his cubist paintings, the duo created a sweatshirt with a chunky, cubist monkey printed on the front. It's like Paul Frank grew up to study art history. The rest of the collection's summery pieces are just as artful: think silky, gingham-printed fabrics juxtaposed with woven raffia panels.

* I don't actually know how many I own. It's a lot. Trust me.
