Summer Sketches: Kenzo Cruise 2014

Remember those days when you were sitting in class, dreaming of summer break, and doodling in the margins using highlighter to color in your masterpieces? The new Kenzo Cruise collection is like that––only on gorgeous clothes made by designers much more talented than you (no offense). Its graphic prints and cross-hatching look like a forest of scribbled-in florals, with a backdrop of fluorescent colors for a pop. Inspired by the graphic elements of summer, the collection pulls classic shapes—the peplum top, the short-sleeve jumpsuit, the mini shift dress—and reworks them with eye-catching prints and feminine touches. Ruffles and contrast piping appear along hems that, with the exception of the jumpsuit, all end above the knee. In Kenzo Cruise's summery world, it's bare leg and loose layer weather: exactly the kind you're dreaming of as the bell rings for your next class.
