It Is the East and She Is the Sun: OC Resort 2014

Last season we ventured west to the sights and sounds of the Vegas strip, basking in the luxurious excess. Now, Opening Ceremony has traveled to the far east, pulling inspiration from the incredible country of Korea. Juxtaposing ancient and modern, this collection puts traditional details alongside technical methods and fibers, such as neoprene. Major influences include the classic geometric architecture built throughout the peninsula, translated into structured garments and necklines, as well as Korean armor, which inspired angular panels on onesies and intricate patterns on dresses. Classic OC shapes are reincarnated with floral textures and fuse-bonded prints formed by watercolor-esque strokes. And all of this done in a color palette of soft, feminine pastels that look like the sun rising.
