The art world's wine-and-dine ragers at this past weekend's sun-drenched Miami Basel left most of us in a dried up hangover that no amount of Motrin and Vitamin D could fix. And on Sunday morning, everyone's impending date with the airport security guard looming (like that snowstorm over Bushwick) meant that drinking another mojito and meandering the fair in a tipsy stupor was no longer an option. Thankfully Reviv Miami spa and Topical Cream, the new net art webzine featuring art by women, transformed the rooftop deck of The Clevelander into an oasis for HYDRO PARTY, where dehydrated art partiers were invited to get Reviv’s IV hook-up of Vitamin B-14 straight to the vein.
Guests checked in for treatment at a table underneath LCDs, where net art gURLs Grossmary and DORA BUDOR screened visuals for anyone who wanted to revel in their F.A.T.––that is, fashion, art, and technology. But for those of us too uncertain about donning the post-op hospital look, Reviv head German Kaupert suggested a little prick in the butt of fat-burning energy boost to perk up your tight toosh. Outside, Juliana Huxtable spun chill-wave beats while guests nodded on, laying back on their lounge chairs as if on a waterpark lazy river, glowing on the nutrient-rich high. To top it off, La-Fem Ladosha turnt up the volume with a live performance, proving that there really is no sleep till Brooklyn at Basel.
