Rest in Peace, Alex Calderwood

It is with great sadness that we write this note to honor our dear friend Alex Calderwood, founder of the Ace Hotels. Since Opening Ceremony joined the Ace family in February of 2009, we have had the pleasure of spending time with Alex dreaming up new ideas and projects to work on together. We shared the same vision and attitude of "Yes... How can we make this happen!" and through our friendship created many memorable experiences together. His passing last week has saddened us deeply, and we share in our community's grief in losing a visionary.
