Nothin' but Net: Been by D'Heygere

Stéphanie D'Heygere is sort of like the Spiderwoman of Belgian fashion (they also share an affinity for Lycra). By day, she's a designer for Margiela, helping with the line's accessories. By night, she's the powerhouse creative behind Been by D'Heygere, whose hyperrealist prints have been adorning legs since 2011. New to OC for fall, Been (which means leg in Flemish) is fighting the battle against boring with leggings covered in close-up photo prints of everyday textures. Ever really looked at the pebbled texture of a basketball or American football? Or admired the natural beauty of watermelon stripes and pineapple spikes? Thanks to D'Heygere's print process, now you can. The textures are digitally collaged, then sent to a factory in Holland, where the designs are heat-transferred onto the garments to maintain the quality and consistency of the print. Comfortable enough to wear for a few games of pick-up and full of delicious details, these oversized T-shirts and leggings ball so hard, on several levels.
