OC x NYFW: Hood by Air SS14

With their dusty faces and Nike swoosh moonboots, Shayne Oliver's Hood by Air SS14 models plodded down the runway looking like they'd just been kicking it on planet Mercury, where they got a little too close to the sun, and decided to return to Earth and turn up (scorched) at geo coordinates: Milk Studios. As always, Shayne took it there––in the world of Shayne, you know that means far-out power dressing unconfined to anything your brain knows or can identify. First up was a parade of HBA fanbase crowd-pleasers: button-downs emblazoned with his brand's acronym and the number "69"––looks that read like elevated versions of his cult-status crewnecks. As the show progressed, Shayne brought out the big guns, with hulking pieces featuring dangling belts, trailing fabrics, sleeves sewn onto the sides of pants, and an exoskeletal tubing situation straight out of an apocalyptic movie (cut to: quivering pothole top being lifted from underneath...). Genius. All in all, the collection was a total jaw-dropper––a massive congrats to Shayne on another killer collection that has us itching for 2K14!
