The Eye of Disguise: Sorelle FW13

Let’s get real, some of us have commitment issues when it comes to changing up our look. It’s hard enough deciding whether we should cut our hair or get an eyebrow wax, let alone get a new piercing. Francesca Grosso of Sorelle knows these feelings all too well, so she created a collection that allows girls to flirt with a new look without getting burned. Francesca’s Fall/Winter 2013 collection includes two trompe l'oeil pieces that would fool anyone. The Lula septum ring pinches into your nose without the pain of a piercing, while the Ava ear cuff (coming soon) clasps onto the top of your ear—no needles required. Inspired by tribal jewelry worn throughout India and Pakistan, the collection also features Francesca's signature gold vermeil hoop earrings with Indian beads and stacking rings in sterling silver. The Chloe (solid 14k gold) and Lilli rings add even more drama to the collection with intricate floral detailing on each band.

I teamed up with Francesca and OCNY's Brooke Gardiner to shoot an editorial at Francesca's home in Williamsburg, in which Sorelle girl Michelle Salem plays a little dress-up in the collection.
