Stuck in Argentina with nothing but a couple of "Where's the nearest restroom, please" phrases in your vocabulary? Our Argentinean Slang Book is here to save your trip.

Tipo, a noun used in Argentina and many Spanish-speaking countries, translates literally into "type." When used in slang however, it can have the same function as the word "like" in English (interspersed in speech). Example: La fiesta empieza tarde, tipo, a las cuatro. (The party starts late, at like, four.) It can also be used to mean "guy." As in: Ese tipo es un poco raro. (That guy is a little weird.)
