In "Straight Trippin'," OC friends and family share tidbits from their latest travels. Our head buyer Carol Song, who just got back from Argentina, fills us in on her asado addiction, tango lessons, and more!

Name:
Carol Song
Occupation:
OC Head Buyer
Travel destination:
Argentina
Carry-on necessities:
Eye mask, iPad, and candy
Reading materials:
US Weekly, Fader, and Inside of a Dog: What Dogs See, Smell, and Know by Alexandra Horowitz
Most over-played tracks on your iPod on this trip: "Killing your ills" by Esty, "The Dream" by Turnt, "Belong to the World'" by The Weeknd
Favorite outfit to travel in:
Something low-key and comfortable that says "please don't bother me right now"––my Sunspel zip up hoodie, Acne Studios Wonder Generic Boxy T-shirt, comfortable jeans or sweats, Dominaty 101 Thierry Lasry sunglasses (available on OC online soon), thick socks, and Nikes.
Highlight of your trip:
Impossible for me to choose just one highlight! Since OC featured Argentina, I've already been there a few times for work. This time, I went with my boyfriend and was able to see an even more romantic side to Argentina. We had tango lessons with a beautiful couple at their private estate; took a boat ride down the Tigre Delta; strolled around La Recoleta, a cemetery with beautiful statues and eerie walkways; and experienced the gaucho lifestyle first-hand in the countryside riding horses, drinking mate, and of course eating amazing grilled asado all day long.
Souvenirs:
Argentine wine, hand-woven rugs and blankets, and flea market finds for my friends and family.

Guido's Bar - República de la India 2843, Buenos Aires MAP
La Recoleta Cemetery - Azcuénaga, Buenos Aires MAP

Cruisin' on the Tigre Delta, where there are no roads or cars. Public transportation is by boat, which drops people off at their stilted houses.

Guido's! One of my favorite restaurants in Buenos Aires, where there are no menus and the waiter brings you endless amounts of Argentine-Italian specialties.
