In "Straight Trippin'," OC friends and family share tidbits from their latest travels. Next up is our men's buyer Jesse Hudnutt, who just got back from New Orleans!
Name: Jesse Hudnutt
Occupation: OC Men's Buyer
Travel destination: New Orleans, Louisiana
Carry-on necessities: iPhone, Bose in-ear headphones, and big bottle of Smartwater
Reading materials: Catching up on my New Yorkers, Us Weekly of course, and finally finishing Fire In My Belly: The Life and Times of David Wojnarowicz
Most over-played tracks on your iPod this trip: I was getting into the Nola vibe with some favorite bounce tracks, namely "Azz Everywhere" by Big Freedia
Favorite outfit to travel in: Something comfy and layered for transitioning across many different indoor-outdoor climates, like my T by Alexander Wang sweat shorts, Gosha RubchinskIy yellow highlighter tank top, Acne grey plaid button down, and some Nike sneakers.
Highlight of your trip: There were a lot of highlights, especially food (shout out to Michael Stipe for his amazing Nola guide for Goop––lol, for real though). But since it was 90+ and humid, we spent a lot of time at the Country Club, a magical Greek revival mansion in Bywater that's been converted to a restaurant and bar with a big pool out back. Nothing like a few frozen mango daiquiris poolside to make you feel like you're on vacay.
Souvenirs you brought back: Some odd antiques like a dog-shaped planter from a junk shop on Decatur Street, a hand-woven Turkish towel, and a serious desire to go back and visit again ASAP.
