Simone Rocha Keeps It in the Family for Fall

Look at Simone Rocha's new collection and then tell me how much you want to meet her grannies. Inspired by Granny Rocha and Granny Gleason, Simone's fall collection offers a more grown-up spin on her much-loved signatures: lace, pastels, bows, and brogues. As the designer explains, her Chinese grandmother is a faux fur fan, and so you have a crisp white shirt with a detachable faux leopard collar, while her Irish grandmother loves a pant, prompting a pair of delicious frosting-pink cropped trousers. These pants, as well as a bubblegum-hued peplum dress (made from a sporty foam-backed mesh) demonstrate that Simone's tailoring is every bit as advanced as her inspiration. Wrapping up the look: velvet slip-ons with a baroque granny slipper vibe and a glittery version of Simone's trademark Perspex-heel brogue. If we didn't already know that Simone's fashion DNA is top of the line, this season proves it.
