Warm Up 2013: Obey City, Kelela, Recloose, L-VIS 1990, and Kode9

Summer has brought the heat, and the lineup at Warm Up this past Saturday was on hypnotic, electronic fire. The afternoon kicked off with Brooklyn-based Obey City, whose jams are the latest to hit the maximalist electro scene. They were a perfect prelude to the sultry vocals of our girl Kelela, the Los Angeles babe who got the crowd off their bums and onto the dance floor with her vow to bring the bedroom to the club. L-VIS 1990 backed her up with beats, and then Detroit native Recloose took the stage, his swinging rhythms adding more soul and even some funk to the lineup. New York-based LVIS-1990 kept the crowd going, and things got so hot that it began to pour (upstaging the Party Wall's pools and misting stations with real-life rain). Kings of the UK electro scene, Kode9, closed out the night as the skies cleared. Get a look at how it all went down below.
