Helena Rubenstein, Anna Karina, Sissy Spacek. Peter Jensen often takes rather wild pop culture icons as inspiration. Both his men's and women's collections have been influenced by fantastical characters (fictional and IRL) for years. This season, the designer took a slightly more demure approach by choosing Arne Jacobsen as his muse. Perhaps best known as the Danish designer behind the Egg chair stationed in every mid-century modern household, Arne Jacobsen is famous for an array of functional-yet-quirky architecture and furniture, which aligns perfectly with the Peter Jensen aesthetic. Traditional shapes are finished with a twist, like puff sleeves on a men's shirt, or a sassy T-Rex posing on a simple navy pullover. And just as Mr. Jacobsen's designs were intended for universal use, so are Mr. Jensen's: the sweaters are all unisex!
