More than a Woman: Rachel Comey pre-Fall 2013

After having her second baby, Rachel Comey wanted to design clothes for a wider range of bodies. Is it cheesy if I say "Amen" right now? Whatever. Amen. Pre-Fall 2013 is Rachel's "I'm Every Woman" collection. The label's signature shapes have always been flattering (loose shift dresses, silk blouses) but this time around the emphasis is even more strongly on strategic construction and fabrics. A-line sleeveless blouses and dresses with loose silk skirts are about subtly juxtaposing patterns and are cut to skim the body ever-so-slightly. In all respects, it might just be the line's most grown-up collection to date. A mood best embodied in a perfect black coat, with a slightly flared skirt to highlight your waist. As ever, you can rest easy knowing that Rachel Comey just gets it.
