Why it's so great: Chronicling the career of this audacious performance artist, the wild images in this book make it hard to look away. Among the many shows documented is her nude stint as a human column, as well as her lauded 2011 performance at MoMA, The Artist Is Present. During this performance piece, hundreds of people lined up for hours for the chance to sit opposite Abramović, who sat immobile and mute for 16 hours. Practically every page is splattered with boobs, debauchery, and bravery and, I have to say, I don't mind it one bit! As a pivotal female figure in the art world, it's about time we paid homage to her!
