Hammer Horror Honey: Christopher Kane pre-Fall Is Here

Like a darker sequel to spring's sugary Franken-fest, Christopher Kane's pre-Fall collection has just arrived at OC. Christopher Kane's first pre-Fall collection. The designer has used this extra season to bring back some of his best-loved shapes: the CK LBD first seen in his gel-filled FallWinter 2011 collection; the silk princess skirt debuted during resort 2013; the long-sleeve mini dress that sold out from resort 2012; and the frayed jeans he pioneered with J. Brand—this time produced in-house and frayed to another level. And you bet these pieces are back with a vengeance. The season's siganture print, a neon floral that appears on silk and velvet, looks like a partially colorized Gothic wallpaper from a black-and-white horror film. Paired with both chunky metal zippers and ruched chiffon, it takes the collection to a beautifully eerie/eerily beautiful place. To accessorize, leather pouches and a velvet rucksack come embroidered with hand-stitched pansies—a very welcome throwback to Fall/Winter 2010.
