Peter Halley's collaborative exhibition with designer/architect Alessandro Mendini opened last week at Mary Boone Gallery uptown. In it, Peter's bright paintings hang on the geometric, Mendini-designed walls, and the result is a profusion of forms where two very bright yet different color palettes coexist. No space is left blank, and the vibrant background makes the paintings radiate even more. I almost laughed at one point upon realizing how extreme the color combination was.
