One restaurant I have been dying to visit for months now is Bubbledogs, tucked away on Charlotte Street in London. Knowing about the usual queues around the block, I made sure I got there early, determined to try the dogs everyone raves about. Champagne and hot dogs is the curious concept, with literally nothing else on the menu except for sides that include tots, sweet potato fries, and coleslaw. Simple and sweet.
I went for the Reuben dog, which comes with sauerkraut, Swiss cheese, and Russian dressing, coupled with a glass of bubbles. Of course, with a hot dog simply being not enough for my greedy appetite, I also ordered the sweet potato fries and tots. My friend went for the Fourth of July, which is basically a dog wrapped in bacon, smothered in BBQ sauce, and finished with a generous dollop of coleslaw. It turns out that hot dogs washed down with champagne really is the perfect pairing.
