My friend and contributing OC photographer Harry Carr has a pair of vegetable-print pants. They are patterned with radishes and turnips and they are the envy of everyone we know. The man responsible is Kit Neale, a London-based menswear designer whose line arrives at OC for the first time this season. Excitement! Kit and his print-centric designs have been gathering press and acclaim at lightning speed over the last two seasons, and we can't wait to see what's next. His Spring/Summer 2013 collection features classic tees and button-downs patterned with lobsters, airplanes, and decking inspired by the English seaside. Meet Kit in our quick-fire Q&A below.

Alice Newell-Hanson: Hi Kit! Please sum up the spring collection in three words.
Kit Neale: Margate meets Peckham.
What is your process for developing a collection?
My team and I research a lot. We visit museums, trunk sales, art galleries, and obscure places around town, picking up books and buying figurines and all sorts. Then we design the prints and create a range plan—while trying to get some sleep in between.
How did you hit on the idea for lobsters, wood, and planes?
On a visit to Margate we stole a poster with a lobster on it from a fish market, then we created "Rockney the Lobster." The wood idea sprung from my grandma's decking, and the planes were based on toys found at a flea market in South London.
Where is your studio in London? Where would you take us if we came to visit?
We're in Shoreditch. If you came to visit we'd take you for a burger at the diner and walk it off with a stroll along the canal with our dog.
What is your dream Kit Neale collaboration?
I'd love to collaborate with the Royal Ballet. Random, but I love the ballet.
