Serafina Sama wants something from her Isa Arfen line to become your new favorite piece. When we visited the gentle and lovely Italian designer at her Paris showroom during fashion week, she spoke with reverence of those elusive elements that you always reach for. The perfect black dress, the wonderfully-cut pants. "It's about making everyday pieces more desirable," Serafina mused. Amen, girl, we thought, looking though the fall 2013 collection, which is very much that. The new pieces elaborate on the vocabulary of the spring collection, building a small wardrobe for the Isa girl.
We geeked out over a shared love for the Romeo Gigli-era of late-80s and early-90s Italian fashion, which was all bows, silk, and boleros. Isa Arfen absorbs this heritage, but reworks it for the no-fuss generation. Serafina pulled out her favorite pieces from the new collection, including soft jersey denim separates and a fuzzy teddy-bear coat in light blue and red.
