This spring, Opening Ceremony has teamed up with costume designer Heidi Bivens to create a clothing collection inspired by writer/director Harmony Korine’s upcoming film, Spring Breakers. Launching on March 22, to coincide with the movie's nationwide release, the collection harnesses the "girls gone wild" spirit of the film's party scenes. Spring break essentials, including towels, hoodies, and printed bikinis, come in vibrant neon colors and bear custom graphics designed by OC and internationally renown contemporary artist REAS.
To decorate matching sweats and reversible jerseys, OC created logos for each of the main characters. The four college girls, Brit (Ashley Benson), Candy (Vanessa Hudgens), Cotty (Rachel Korine), and Faith (Selena Gomez), are represented by a pair of green dolphins, a pink marijuana leaf, hot pink dripping ice cream cones, and an inverted purple cross. While Alien, James Franco's corn-rowed local thug is portrayed by a glow-in-the-dark alien. Other designs include hoodies printed with the cheeky slogan "DTF," unicorn-printed bandanas, mesh backpacks, cigarette lighters, "HARMONY" friendship bracelets, and “SPRING BREAK 4EVER BITCHES” wristbands.
The Opening Ceremony x Spring Breakers collection launches exclusively at Opening Ceremony's New York and Los Angeles stores on March 22, and will be available at the London and Tokyo stores by April 5.
