Acne has been a collaborative project since the get-go, and this season proved Jonny Johansson still plays well with others. For Fall/Winter 2013, he teamed up with artist Katerina Jebb and together they raided the archives of historical garments at the Musée Galliera in Paris. Inspired by the pieces' interior construction, Jonny reworked antique shapes to create flowing coats with paper-bag waists, oversized jackets, and bouclé knits with exaggerated stitching. Katerina, meanwhile, was busy scanning the insides of the garments to produce beautiful abstract prints. On Saturday, we saw these decorating trailing silk dresses and loose tailoring for men and women.
The accessories are trump cards in any Acne collection. This season, the Boy George-style bandana-and-hat pairings and super skinny sunglasses were beyond. But the real show-stealers were the T-bar sandals with tufted trim—they made the models look like they were walking over a colorful chiffon sea.
