It was only a matter of time before Olympia Le-Tan did a presentation at the Musée de la Chasse et de la Nature; they share a uniquely Parisian blend of elegance and eccentricity that is impossible to duplicate. Olympia's cult embroidered book clutches looked right at home mixed in with the rococo decoration and abundant taxidermy in the salons of the museum. Sitting on gilded chairs, chatting with friends, and eating cookies handed out by Olympia's adorable niece Dizzie, we were in a pretty good mood by the time the first ladies came waltzing through the rooms. Inspired by the Austrian wonderland of The Sound of Music, Olympia's "Schnitzel with Noodles" collection was all about saucy frauleins in Bavarian outfits. Quite a few of the pieces felt like precious, vintage children's clothing, including small velvet liederhosen, peter-pan collared dresses, and delicately knitted sweaters. There was a bit of kink, too, like the swirly black leather dress worn by Olympia's sister Cleo. Cookies, liederhosen, and leather: some of our favorite things, indeed!
