Rubies, Rainbows, and Rubber: 'Inifinity' by Delfina Delettrez

Defina Delettrez's pieces pretty much defy words. Exhibit A: a collar made from rainbow stripes of rubber connected by silver zigzags inset with crystals in multicolor settings and finished with a single large pearl at the center. How do you think something like that up? Let alone describe it. Mind. Blown.

"Infinity," Delfina's spring collection, plays with optical illusions and surrealistic compositions of eyes, mouths, noses, and pearls (all D.D. trademarks). Silver cubes have been polished until they act like mirrors, and on one rubber necklace, a ruby hangs suspended in a diamond of transparent resin—as if it's floating in air. Here, Delfina and photographer Philippe Jarrigeon teamed up to photograph the collection in a fittingly tripped-out setting.
