It's day two of London Fashion Week, and with all the shows and presentations so far, there has been one event that everyone has been hotly anticipating––Rihanna’s debut collection for UK retail giant River Island. Tonight, the Old Sorting Office was alive, bursting with London's most fashionable, and of course Riri’s die-hard fans eagerly awaiting her arrival outside the entrance.
The 31-piece collection heavily reflected Rihanna’s personal sense of style, ranging from her edgier streetwear look to one that was more grown-up and sophisticated. There were ultra-feminine floral dresses, two-piece sets, and jumpsuits all in the sexiest silhouettes, and fabrics varied from risqué mesh to summer-appropriate silks. Stripes and florals ruled in muted tones, with bright pops of acidic yellows and reds seen in flowing maxi dresses and skirts with thigh-high slits, and body-conscious dresses showed off every feminine curve imaginable in true Rihanna style.
Jourdan Dunn, Cara Delevigne, and Jaime Winstone came out to support, dancing and cheering thoughout the show from their front row seats, and of course OC friends and family were all in attendance. If we were to judge by the rapturous applause at the end (not to mention the throngs of people who leapt up to dance), the debut collection of OC's favorite bad gal is not only already a hit, but also likely to fly off the racks quicker than you can say "Good Girl Gone Bad."
The Rihanna for River Island collection will launch globally on Tuesday, March 5th, in River Island stores and online, and exclusively at Opening Ceremony in the US and Japan.
