adidas Originals x OC Spring/Summer 2013 Hits the Track!

On your marks! Today, Opening Ceremony and adidas Originals release a second collection of sports-inspired men’s and women’s ready-to-wear and footwear. This season, the pieces riff on tennis and running gear. Throw out your whites, and say hello to neoprene baby tees, boldly striped shirting, pointelle knits, and athletic shorts in cheetah spots. Add to that a series of reinvented adidas Originals footwear styles—think multicolor Crazy 8 sneakers and Stan Smith tennis shoes—and that’s game, set, match!

First up to the plate is the running team. The pieces combine cutting-edge adidas technology with a rainbow of OC prints. Created specially for the collection, a fade-out cheetah print comes in amped-up tones of red and royal blue. Find it on lightweight anoraks, two-in-one bike and running shorts, leotards, sports bras, and color-blocked tees. To accessorize, the running collection also launches the unisex New York Run shoe and the New York Wedge. Both feature cheetah-print details and a netted overlay at the sole—a take on the classic "Dellinger web" shock dispersion system that adidas pioneered in the 80s!
