The walk from the R train to the Mark McNairy show yesterday was a clear sign of the designer's cult following. A flood of guys in customized New Era caps, crazy prints, and McNairy brogues walked down West 26th Street. Inside, the likes of Theophilus London sat front row as models (guys and girls—including Mark's daughter Daisy) came down the runway in Mark's signature Americana mash-up. Ivy League-style blazers and sportswear paired with round sunglasses and guerrilla masks gave the general impression of a campus riot—supported by a soundtrack of protest-era pop. This season the designer also debuted a collaboration with adidas Originals. He'd branded triple-stripe track jackets with varsity lettering spelling "McNasty," and brightly colored Sambas with "TCMFB," after Elvis' motto (think about it...). Complete with clown prints and smiley-faced chino pants, the collection was A-grade McNasty. As a projection behind the runway declared, "The eagle has landed."
