OC x NYFW: Altuzarra FW13

Some key words for Altuzarra Fall/Winter 2013: buttons, hips, fur, mittens, MAJOR. Everything about yesterday's show was on a grand scale. The bass was so heavy it felt like your particles were being rearranged. The lighting was Fierce. And the venue was a monolithic concrete basement in Chelsea. The stream of dark-eyed models wore black-and-white double-breasted suiting, leather boleros, figure-hugging dresses with padded hips, pencil skirts with perilous sheer panels, and fur. Which was where Joseph Altuzarra really went to town. He spliced inky leather dresses with luminous panels of the stuff, and gave coats trailing tails at the sleeves. But the real showstoppers were the racoon-striped gloves—just the thing for the snow—which looked so soft you wanted to reach out and touch them.
