In this round of "Pet Psychology," a series featuring OC pals and their cuddly friends, our friends RACHELYN REMZ-PORTER and Alice Barlow check in with Ben, Lauren, and Cow Cat Rayner!
So like, we love The Rayners and stuff (since they're a power couple or whatever), but let’s be honest. The real star of the family is Cow Cat. I mean, how could he not be totally rad? He's being raised by Ben, one of New York's most respected photographers/publishers, and Lauren, a highly sought-after adorable little stylist boo. Both have dope accents and are about to become veterans of the Tokyo Marathon (how many millions of miles did you run today, kids?). Wait. Are we jealous? Do we want to be Rayners? Maybe. We caught up with the trio below.
What's your pet's name and age?
Cow Cat, five years old in human years
Where and when did you find Cow Cat?
Five years ago. Ben met Cow Cat at his old flatmate's house, his cat had just given birth.
What's your favorite memory with Cow Cat?
When we were told he wasn't going to die (or cost us a million pounds) after he jumped out a third-story window. Also, the time we discovered he was a boy (he flashed his willy). For three months prior to that (including two vet visits), we thought he was a girl. And when he arrived in NYC after his flight from London––he was totally fine and hadn't noticed that he had moved continents.
How did you decide upon Cow Cat's name?
He looks like a cow, and now he's the size of one.
What do you and Cow Cat talk about?
Fancy Feast flavors, running, nap schedules, preferable scratching methods.
What's your spirit animal? What's Cow Cat's spirit human?
Cow Cat is a bear / fox. We're beavers.
Where is Cow Cat's favorite place to sleep? What does he dream about?
On Bens feet! He dreams about having his chin scratched and about Dreamies (his preferred snack).
Draw me a portrait of Cow Cat!!
See left!
