Closet Collections: Chrissie Miller's Vintage T-Shirts

We admire anyone who has a look, and whose approach to fashion is as obsessive as ours. In this column we ask OC friends and family to let us rifle through their collections and celebrate their hoarding situations.

You know when you go into a vintage store and find an amazing old T-shirt and the owner tells you it's not for sale? Yeah, well, that's because Chrissie Miller has scooped up all the cheap, but actually really valuable, ones already. Chrissie has been collecting tees forever. She even makes them, under the name Sophomore—the brand responsible for this iconic Cass Bird image (which, incidentally, we spotted on Chrissie's bedroom wall).

Brayden and I went round to Chrissie's East Village apartment to have a look at her trove. We found a priceless Neil Young tour tee, an original FUCT long-sleeve, and souvenir shirts from around the world.

T-shirts are like gold to me.

I like to wear them almost every day.

I own 100s of T-shirts.

My favorite piece is my Neil Young shirt because LEO [Fitzpatrick] got it for me ❤.

The first T-shirt in my collection was a Madonna T-shirt.

My most beat-up T-shirt is my Harley Davidson shirt.

The trick to getting your T-shirts super soft is to wash them as much as possible.

In a fire, I would save my rawhide T-shirt first.

When I die, I will leave my collection to Drea de Matteo.

I also collect art.

"This Neil Young shirt was a present from Leo (my boyfriend) for our one-year anniversary. He saw me looking at it at my friends' store and called to have it sent! It's from Filth Mart in LA (where 90% of my best T-shirts are from)."

"I am always looking for amazing airbrush shirts. The detail on this one is insane and it even has some rhinestones!"
