Behind the Seams: A Closer Look at the OC Resort '13 Knits

When perusing clothes online, you don't always experience the full tactile and visual effects of an intricate pattern, or the feel of a special knit. Take OC’s 2013 Resort collection, for example. From metallic jacquards and stretchy, waffle-like fabrics to shiny vinyl, the looks feature a whole range of exciting textures. Here, we give you a closer look!

For Resort 2013, we explored the Key West theme through vibrant, graphic florals and details inspired by reptiles and Florida's angular architecture. Check it all out here!

The Resort 2013 brocades have a slightly metallic sheen, courtesy of our metallic acetate blend. Plus, they're smooth and silky to the touch.

Here they are on the Shearling Zip-Off Moto Jacket in navy and the Floral Jacquard Fitted Pants in pale pink 

The floral jacquard is also featured on this season's OC handbags, like this OC Ace Floral Small Satchel.

Curious as to how this embroidery came about?

It all started with some hand-sketches...

Next, they were translated onto a computer.

And voilà! The Hand Emroidered Crew Neck in IVORY and in INK.

The knit jacquard, as seen on the Floral Jacquard Tank Dress, comes in this black and ivory colorway...

(Up close, it looks like it could be needlepoint!)

Here's the same knit jacquard in a blush color, on our Reversible Floral Short-Sleeve Cardigan in ivory/coral.

We were so torn between coral-on-ivory and the subtler coral-on-coral that we made this colorway reversible!

Notice the buttons on both sides of the cardigan. Additionally, we used flatlock seams and hand-tacked the label so it could easily be removed.
