Icon Alert: Jodie Foster!

While I don't have it on great authority, I bet Jodie Foster's candid, tear-jerking acceptance speech at Sunday night's Golden Globes awards almost broke the Internet. As soon as she sashayed off stage with her Cecil B. Demille award in hand, Twitter, Facebook, and Tumblr feeds all around the world pledged allegiance to the Church of Jodie! We are, of course, long-time lovers of Jodie's films as well as her style, with its tomboyish origins (loafers, slogan tees, and even a three-piece suit) and the luxe Armani outfits of the 80s and 90s.

While you were playing with toy blocks, Jodie was making call times on set, shooting commercials and not long after, films. Jumping in head first, her first major film role was as a tween prostitute in Taxi Driver—and things just got weirder and more wonderful from there. All in all, Jodie has played a serial killer, child prodigy, English teacher, hero-mom, lion's best friend, astro scientist, con artist, kinky little sister, and FBI agent, voiced Maggie Simpson, recorded two singles IN FRENCH, graduated from Yale, and had an asteroid, 17744 Jodiefoster, named after her. You go, girl!
