Before you spotted the DIS magazine models in white bodysuits stamped with TRIENNIAL, 2015, and YOUR LOGO HERE; before you were tempted by an expertly mixed cocktail chilled with a spherical ice cube; and before you set foot in the elevator shuttling guests to the 7th floor of the New Museum, where the Next Generation party was taking place––you were greeted by a sea of miniature water bottles filled with a suspicious-looking yellow liquid, bearing the Chase bank logo and the word Taste. As it turns out, it was nothing more than H2O and food dye cheekily provided by SHANZHAI BIENNIAL for the DIS Red Carpet Services, an installation in which OCNY's own shopgirl Michelle (rocking head-to-toe patent leather Jeremy Scott) played a part by leading guests to pose alongside the models against a blindingly white screen.
Upstairs, OC mixtape alum Physical Therapy provided the tunes in between live sets by Teengirl Fantasy, Murphy Maxwell, and Lauren Devine (whose latest single "Luv U Far" is an OC photo studio fave). The event, which celebrated New York's next wave of creatives, benefitted the 2015 Generational Triennial, an upcoming show curated by Lauren Cornell and Ryan Trecartin. With a committee peppered with tons of OC friends (Chloë Sevigny, Ryan Trecartin, Derek Blasberg, Telfar Clemens, Dan Colen, DIS, Audrey Gelman, Shayne Oliver, Akeem Smith, Alex Gartenfeld, and more) the event was, unsurprisingly, a success.
After a few hours, the party wound down, but the night didn't stop there as people migrated down to Santos Party House, where the GHE20 G0TH1K party had the place on fire 'til the early hours of the morning.
